Numerical modelling of primary bioproductivity of the Palaeozoic pelagic ecosystems

The article considers an approach to the reconstruction of bioproductivity Palaeozoic pelagic ecosystems based on numeric modelling carbon isotope fractionation. model uses information dioxide content in atmosphere, water temperature, and isotopic composition carbonates conodont elements. developed is tested material from Upper Devonian — Lower Carboniferous northern Cis-Urals (successions carbonate platform slope intrashelf depression). It allows reconstructing primary productivity their dynamics basis limited data. results are considered as rather qualitative than quantitative. total organic was used for controlling quality model.
